Special Worship Services
Longest Night Service
On the Longest Night in December, or an evening close to the Longest Night, we gather in worship, acknowledging our connection to the rhythms of nature and remembering the significance that this time of year has had for our ancestors in the faith. On this evening, we also remember loved ones who have passed away, whether it is in this past year or many years ago. You are invited to bring a candle and candle holder, and light the candle in remembrance of your loved one during the service. The candle & holder are then yours to take home and light throughout the season to remember your loved one. Check our announcements page for the exact date and time of this service.
Christmas Eve
On Christmas Eve, we welcome you to attend one of our services.
6:00 pm A service planned with our youngest members in mind. This service runs for about 45 minutes and includes story, drama, special music and Christmas Carols.
8:00 pm Choir & Candlelight. This hour long service includes anthems by our adult choir, the reading of the Christmas story from scripture and the singing of Christmas Carols along with a Christmas message. The service ends with everyone lighting their own candle during the singing of “Silent Night.”
Holy Week Services
Walk the path with Jesus from palms to cross to resurrection.
Palm Sunday 10 am
The children lead this service in which we welcome Jesus’ arrival in Jerusalem with the waving of palm branches, share in the Last Supper, and hear of his arrest and betrayal.
Maundy Thursday 7:00 pm
On this evening, we gather for a service of healing. You are welcomed with a ritual hand - washing, and then invited to share in communion and to receive anointing with oil with prayers for healing.
Good Friday 10 am
The most difficult service of the year is one that many want to avoid, but those who come find it a profound experience, one that heightens the significance of the Easter Sunday service. The Good Friday service is a simple service of hymns and the readings of the story of Jesus’ betrayal and death, ending with the extinguishing of the Christ Candle, and a quiet dismissal from worship.
Easter Sunday 10 am
On Easter Sunday we celebrate hope and resurrection. The service begins with the entrance of the new Christ Candle and the greeting, “Christ is Risen. He is risen indeed.” Joy is in the air as we sing and read scripture. Children & youth have special activities to celebrate resurrection.
