Library & Book Reviews

Read our book reviews blog here

It will be our pleasure to welcome you into the coziest corner in our church.  The library, located to the right of our front doors, as you enter, is open to the public during office hours.  You are welcome to come and browse, to choose a favourite author or to research a puzzling topic.  There are comfy chairs in which to relax, a fireplace for cold weather and the coffee is only steps away.

We do ask that you sign out any books you wish to borrow and that they be returned within a reasonable amount of time.  The sign out book is on the desk.  Please make yourself at home.

Here is a tip for you.  When you enter the library, switch on the lights and look up.  The pendant light is one that hung in our old church; a memorial to the saints who worshiped in its light.  Above the shelves is a verse of scripture from John 1: "In the beginning was the Word."  What power is to be found in words, even the power to create all that is.

We hope your time spent in HRUC Library will empower you - to read, to study, to go forth.
Welcome to our world.

Brenda Dyck
