WANDERING IN THE WILDERNESS  (SKIPPING CHURCH TO VENTURE OUTSIDE)

 We’re going to skip church!  And you’re encouraged to join us.  On Sunday, August 12th, Andrea & Mark Sawatzky, Sharon Prusky and Michelle Parker will lead a group on a church hike.  We’ll leave the parking lot at 9am, and return probably around 1pm.  After carpooling to a hiking location, we’ll find God in nature by doing a short hike.  Sometime during the hike we’ll stop for a short service (that Rev. Susan will prepare for us), and then enjoy our picnic lunches together. What a great opportunity to look for the divine outside our church walls.

  Andrea, Mark, Sharon and Michelle are all experienced hikers with years of volunteering with Scouts Canada.  They are all first aid trained, and can work with the group to provide a safe and fun outdoor adventure.  They are all excited to share their love of the outdoors with their High River United Church family.

 We want to make sure we plan an inclusive hike, tailored to the group that is interested.  If mobility is a concern, we’ll plan a hike with paved paths.  If you’ve never gone hiking before, we’ll make sure you have the information you need to safely enjoy your time outside.  We’ve put together a brief form to gather some more information.  Copies are in the church office, or email Michelle and she’ll send you a copy.  If you’re interested, please fill out the form and give to back into the church office by August 1st.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it.   This hike is open to everyone, including young children.  However, we do recommend that children bring a responsible adult.  Once we get a list of interested people, we’ll email you out a suggested pack list, and our specific hiking plans.
