To Our Filipino Friends and Neighbours

Our Community of Faith at High River United Church aches with pain and sadness as the Vancouver Filipino community moves through the loss and trauma of multiple deaths caused by the car-ramming at the Lapu-Lapu street festival.  We are holding those directly impacted by the senseless violence of this event in our hearts and prayers.  May God's light and love prevail over the deep shadows cast by this tragic event.  We also pray for the wider Filipino community across Canada and here with us in our home community of High River.  In this time of despair, you are not alone.  In life, in death, in life beyond death God is always with us.
