Knowing God Through Seeking Justice

To know God through working for justice is to dare to see the world through the eyes of God and to risk letting one’s heart break with God’s pain. Sometimes, in doing this, we will find our biases and perspectives challenged and we may feel uncomfortable, but that is what happens when one knows God through seeking justice. We meet Jesus in everyone, not just the people who are like us and who are comfortable for us to be around.

When we recognize Jesus in the person in front of us, then we will be moved to do justice – to work together to create a society where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, has equal opportunities, and knows well-being. And then, in this, we will know God.

Challenge yourself to see the people around you and the world through God’s eyes this week, to feel the pain that God feels and to dream the dreams that God dreams for the world.

With love and prayers,
