 t\n\n\n For the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing some terminology that you 
 may have heard along the way.\n\n\n What does the term “cisgender” mean? -t
 his describes an individual whose personal gender identity is the same as t
 he gender named when they were born.\n\n\n \n\n\nTransgender – a person who
 se personal gender identity does not match the gender named when they were 
 born.\n\n\n \n\n\n Agender – a person who does not identify with either gen
 der\n\n\n \n\n\n Bigender – a person who identifies with both genders\n\n\n
  \n\n\nGenderfluid – a person whose gender identity and expression are flui
 d and change depending upon the circumstances and situation.\n\n\n \n\n\nGe
 nder-bender – a person who plays with, disrupts and bends expected gender r
 oles\n\n\n \n\n\nAt the October 21, 2019 Church Council meeting, it was una
 nimously approved that HRUC begin exploring the possibility of becoming an 
 Affirming Church, which means that we would clearly and publicly be open ab
 out welcoming everyone including LGBTQ+\n\n\n  See handout on greeter’s tab
