Rev Linda McLaren comes from Jasper United Church where she has been ministering to that community since 2021.
Linda grew up in a small town in Ontario, moving to British Columbia in 1987 then to Alberta in 2015. She trained as a nurse and practiced that profession for many years working in acute and community care. Linda then felt called to ministry and began her studies at the Vancouver School of Theology graduating with a Masters in Divinity in 2016 and was ordained that same year.
Linda has a passion for health and spirituality. Her preferred style of leadership is collaborative.
She is a Healing Pathway practitioner and has completed 4 years of Soul Guiding in Spiritual Direction – 2 years as a participant to complete the program of Spiritual Direction, followed by 2 years in the role of Companion – a program in leadership and facilitation in spiritual direction.
Linda completed a course through VST on children’s ministry titled Hardwiring Faith Ministry in Children and Youth as well as spearheading Camp Spirit, a children’s day camp that explored “100 Acts of Love”.
Linda has also worked with regional as well as national levels of United Church of Canada Councils.
