At High River United Church, we have 594 participants, on our participant list.
A participant is someone who worships with us, who is participates in church activities, who donates money to us and/or who is a United Church person in the Manor, Nursing Home or homebound. This includes:
208 members (those who have taken faith formation/confirmation classes and have publicly reaffirmed their baptismal vows or who have transferred their membership from another congregation.)
258 adherents (those who are actively connected with our congregation but who are not members as defined above.)
124 children and youth (under 18 connected with the participant families in this congregation)
4 ministry personnel ( 2 active and 2 retired )
Imagine if even half of these people showed up on the same Sunday in church!
Did you know….. that on the 2001 census 2,145 people identified themselves as United Church.
That is 23% of the population of High River.
