What is a silent book club? Silent Book Clubs started in 2012. There are now silent book clubs all over the North America. With traditional book clubs, there's the due date and the scramble to finish the assigned book. Wouldn't it be great to have a book club where you could just enjoy books, friends, coffee/tea —without any homework? Silent Book Club is about taking time out of your busy schedule to simply relax and read whatever you want to read and talk to other people about books (if you want to, or you can just keep reading). This is for all men & women who love to read.
What to expect when you come on October 28th:
• 1:00 - 1:30 pm - arrive at High River United Church. Grab a cup of tea or coffee and/or chat with the other book club members about what they're reading.
• 1:30 – 2:15 pm - wonderful, blissful, relaxing reading time. (Note: while cell phones are not forbidden, we do ask that you put them on silent for a full 45 minutes free of distraction so you can just read and relax).
• 2:15 – 2:45 pm - time to go home....or continue to hang out and read or talk with your new bookish friends.
Don't have a book to read? We'll have some books on hand for you to pick from.
