Celebrating Our Ministers

A special celebration was held on Sunday, Sept. 11th, to mark the 10th anniversary of the ministry of Rev. Susan Lukey and Rev. David Robertson at High River United Church.

During the worship service, Susan and David recommitted to the vows they originally made to the congregation when they joined us in 1995.

On behalf of the congregation, board chair Bruce Masterman presented them with two wonderful paintings by High River artist Ken Harrison, a member of High River United Church.

Bruce spoke of Susan and David’s commitment, passion and enthusiasm, and thanked them for 10 great years. We are truly blessed to have such leadership.

The celebration continued in the lower hall, where congregation members shared Soup and Bun along with two delicious and artfully-crafted cakes created by Deborah Harrison.

Congregation members signed a guest book to help remind Susan and David of this special occasion for many years to come.

Congratulations, Susan and David.

It's Cool in the Furnace was performed Sunday, February 13, to rave reviews ... "A joyous occasion!"
The Play is based on a musical by Buryl Red (music) and Grace Hawthorne (lyrics) – 1973, based on Daniel 2:46 – 3:30.
