Music Programming at High River United Church

Music Ministry at High River United Church is an integral aspect of our life together as a congregation. We offer three exciting programs: Adult Choral, Bell Choir, and the Gift of Music Concert Series (details below).

Our Adult Choral and Bell Choir programming is co-ordinated by Rev. David Robertson. An ordained minister, David is also a graduate of the Conrad Grebel University College music program with special focus on voice and choral conducting. David is an alum of the Perkins School of Theology Church Music Summer School located on the Southern Methodist University Campus in Dallas, TX. His love for choral singing continues to be infectious for both the choir and the congregation.

The Adult Choral program is directed by David Robertson. There are between 20 and 30 singers in this choir which sings a varied repertoire of music from the early music period to contemporary North American anthems. They sing most every Sunday. Talk about fun!

The Bell Choir is under the direction of Sylvia Moore. Sylvia brings passion to this ministry. Recently, we received a most precious gift—the addition of a third octave of bells. The Bell Choir meets in the Fall and early Spring to prepare Bell music for the Christmas and Easter Seasons. For current scheduling, please call our church office.

We are thrilled to have fine accompanists work with us. We appreciate the skills of these talented musicians.

Throughout the year we welcome the talents of local singers and instrumentalists to join us on our music ministry path. This is a program that is growing, evolving and making room for creativity and most of all, God’s spirit. Together, we are singing our song, taking care of one another and offering a gift of love to our worship life and our broader community.
