High River United Church Governance

The governing body of High River United Church is a Church Council, a grass roots organization, whose members have been appointed by ministry teams which have been duly elected by the congregation at its annual meeting.  The ordered ministry personnel are also members of the Council.  The Church Council emphasizes the responsibility of all members of the congregation to be engaged in ministry.  The lay council members become the elders of the congregation.  The Church Council acts as a coordinating body, as a forum for policy decisions, and as a place for sharing ministry team plans and actions.
